Oh yeah, here we go.  Here’s where I definitely decided Mary wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, that she’s kind of a little stuck up her own ass.

It’s the way it had to be.  Billie’s the source of her own moralizing.  She doesn’t need a Mary, and Billie’s being a better Mary to Danny than Mary is, with her “oh I can’t bang you because of Reasons” schtick.  And so suddenly Mary is surplus to requirements.  She has to find another role.
