Joyce and Walky!

I didn’t have this one saved on my hard drive.  I noticed this because in the next strip, Joe’s sitting in the back seat of Jason’s car with a feathered, wide-brimmed hat and I was like…………………………………………………………………okay, something’s probably missing.  So I dug the original out, rescanned, and re-gradiented the backgrounds to match the old website version.

There’s a story behind that zoot suit Joe’s wearing.  It’s a short story.  My art school roommate wore a bright yellow zoot suit, a la The Mask, to his portfolio show just before he graduated.  Scoff as you may, he’s still working professionally in the art/animation industry through the traditional “we hire you for a business” means.  I wore a normal suit and tie (and no feathered hat) to my portfolio show, and I do a webcomic.

Let that be a lesson.  A terrible lesson.
