Walkyverse Walky and Dorothy’s “courtship” beginnings are a pretty close parallel to how it went down in Dumbing of Age.  They share a favorite cartoon!  That’s all you need, right?  In the Walkyverse, it’s a real cartoon, but over in the Dumbiverse, it’s a fictional one.
