Like with the Comiconference story, Roomies! Redux really let me go in and develop early Billie a lot more. We didn’t get a lot of this backstory stuff originally; often stuff was just mentioned in passing later, if at all.
Here Billie is, in her Malaya stage. Roomies! really had a dearth of Billie/Ruth interactions. You’ll notice I’ve fixed the hell out of that in Dumbing of Age.

I’m not sure commentary on these particular strips is really needed. They’re already spelling out the subtext for us. I guess Danny seems pretty likable. That’s weird.
I really have no idea why I never tried to sell a real version of that poster. That poster is fantastic.
